Spatial Earth Observation Monitoring for Planning and Water Allocation in the International Incomati Basin (WATPLAN)

WATPLAN is a collaborative project under THEME [SPA.2010.3.2-03] of the European Community's Seventh Framework Programme.

The main objective of this project is to develop and implement an operational earth observation monitoring system that - based on high resolution satellite images and in-situ ground measurements - delivers water management indicators on a weekly basis to support transparent and rational decision-making on water allocation and sustainable water utilization in the context of an international river basin.

WaterWatch is the project coordinator of this research project that hasreceived funding from the European Community’s Seventh Framework Programme [FP/2007-2013] under Grant Agreement no. 262949.
